MASSAGE THERAPY TECHNIQUES
Active Release Technique
Used to address a variety of conditions, including overuse injuries, repetitive strain injuries, muscle adhesions, and limited range of motion. It releases tension by placing pressure on the muscle and joint movement to obtain muscle relaxation.
Joint Mobilization
Joint Mobilizations are a form of massage therapy designed to help improve joint mobility and reduce pain. This technique involves the therapist applying pressure to the joints in order to stretch and mobilize them, improving flexibility and range of motion. Joint Mobilizations can help reduce pain, stiffness, and even swelling in the affected area.
GTO Release
GTO Release is a massage therapy service that focuses on relieving tension on the muscles and tendons in the body’. It is a stretching technique applied to the tendons which sends messages to the muscle to relax and decrease high tone.
Trigger Point Therapy
Involves placing pressure on a tender area (knot) that refers pain to another part of the body. Releasing trigger points can decrease pain and discomfort in that location and in its referral pattern, it can also increase range of motion.
Active Inhibition Technique (AIT)
AIT is a lengthening technique applied to the muscle that assists the muscle in gaining its original length. It uses muscle activation in order to promote muscle lengthening. It is extremely helpful for muscle spasms and perfect for rehabilitation and sports massage.
Fascia
Fascia is a specialized type of massage that targets tightness and restrictions in the fascia, the connective tissue that holds the body together. It uses slow, deep strokes to help restore flexibility and reduce pain. It can help to improve range of motion and reduce inflammation, making it an excellent choice for those with chronic pain or mobility issues.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is a type of massage therapy that uses warm water to relieve tension and soreness in the muscles. This treatment helps to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. Additionally, hydrotherapy helps to reduce stress and anxiety, promoting overall wellbeing.
Origin and Insertion Technique
O&I technique is a light pressured technique that aims to relax a muscle by focusing on the attachment points. This technique works well when the muscle belly is too sore to be touched but tension needs to be released.
